O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. Psalm 71:17
I just wanted to explain a little bit more about the Fall Rally. As it is very different than before.
First of all it is going to be a lot closer for everyone and is on a Saturday.
It is at Prince of Peace Church in Pickerington on Saturday September 30th from Noon - 3pm.
Secondly, it is going to be a whole lot cheaper.
$10 per person instead of $20.
Third, there is going to be something for everyone!
Food: Typical tailgate food with hotdogs on the grill.
Tailgate: There will be 2 60 inch TV's playing the football game outside.
OSU vs Rutgers if that is a Noon game or whatever game looks the best if not.
Games: Your favorite tailgate games like flag football, cornhole, can jam, ect...
Inflatable Obstacle Course: Race your friends.
The Buckeye Game Truck: Seriously, check this thing out! https://buckeyevideogametruck.com/
20 people at a time, playing video games on huge TV's, sitting on fancy stadium sets. It is something.
I hope you can get your church's excited about this day. It is going to be so much fun.
This event works if you have 1 kid or 100. It helps bring the church's together. I help plan this and the
winter youth retreat and every year kids talk about how great it is to see that there are teens just like them
all over Columbus who are normal and love Jesus.
All you have to do is bring the kids and keep an eye on them while you watch football. A small price to pay
for such a cool day with youth.
If you have any questions let me know and O-H....
Every year around Easter, all youth (K-college) are invited to come to our Easter Party! Lots of fun games, competitions, and, of course, FOOD! Also, don’t miss out on our Easter Sunday Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast before service starts!
One Sunday every spring (usually in April or May), the youth in grades 5 and up run the entire church service. It may sound like a total chaotic mess, but, believe us, you don’t want to miss it! The youth almost always pick out some contemporary Christian songs, like what you may hear on a radio station, and they always surprise the church with their understanding of the word and God’s love when they share their sermons.
It’s definitely a more contemporary service, but it’s a great chance for you to see how amazing our youth are!
Open to youth in High School, a great evening of summer warmth, bonfire smells, and s’more eatin’. A great chance for our busy high schoolers to catch up during the summer months!
Every year around Halloween, all youth (K-college) are invited to come to our Halloween Party! here’s pumpkin carving, face painting, games, and food!
All youth (K-college)- and even some adults!- look forward to participating in our Christmas ageant every year, and the church always loves watching it! The play may not always be exactly the same, but the spirit of Christmas is always present! Lots of practice is involved, but it always pays off! And who doesn’t love seeing little kids in Christmas costumes?!
White Elephant Christmas Party
This is a new tradition for us, but we liked it so much in 2014, that we decided to make it a regular thing! Youth 5th-12th grade are welcome to participate, and encouraged to buy a simple $5 or less gift, serious or silly, to trade. There’s always yummy snacks, and maybe even Christmas cookies, if we’re lucky! Usually hosted at our youth leaders’ house.
The first Sunday of every month, youth in grades 5-12 are invited to stay after service for an hour to catch up with each other and their youth leader. The name caught on after our youth started meeting at a coffee shop once a month a few years ago, but now the youth meet at the church or at each other’s homes. This lasts from 12-1 PM, and we always try to have some yummy snacks.
The last Sunday of every month, youth in 5-12th are invited to come to church early at 9:30 AM to learn and practice a simple, yet highly entertaining, puppet show that is then put on for the younger children during our “Children’s Moment” in the service.
Every once in awhile, our youth leader or pastor likes to throw an extra event on the schedule for the youth. These may include things like going to a movie all together, or just hanging out. They aren’t regularly on the schedule, but we’ll always be sure to keep you in the loop!
